From Khorfakkan to the World
The Sharjah Marine Science Research Centre is advancing knowledge, building national capability and inspiring action for healthier oceans. Established under the vision and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Khorfakkan, SMSRC represents a major investment in the future of marine science, education and ocean sustainability. Located on the Gulf of Oman in Khorfakkan, the Centre connects advanced research facilities with direct access to one of the UAE’s most ecologically significant marine environments.

Centre Inaugurated
The Sharjah Marine Science Research Centre officially opened in Khorfakkan under the vision and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.
