Dr. Kaltham Alamiry

Bringing together marine biogeochemistry, phytoplankton dynamics, and the application of remote sensing and machine learning to understand and forecast marine environmental variability.

Dr Kaltham Alamiry is a marine scientist and Assistant Professor whose research focuses on marine biogeochemistry, phytoplankton dynamics, and the application of remote sensing and machine learning to understand and forecast marine environmental variability. Her work aims to improve early-warning capabilities for harmful algal blooms (HABs) and to advance data-driven approaches for monitoring coastal and regional ocean ecosystems.

Dr. Kaltham Alamiry

Her research integrates satellite observations, in-situ measurements, and numerical data analysis to examine chlorophyll-a variability, sea surface temperature patterns, upwelling processes, and ocean circulation in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. A central theme of her work is linking physical oceanographic drivers with biological responses to better understand ecosystem productivity and environmental change.

Dr. Kaltham Alamiry

Dr Ismail has contributed to interdisciplinary projects involving marine sustainability, biodiversity assessment, and environmental forecasting. Her broader interests include climate–ocean interactions, mesoscale ocean processes, and the development of operational tools that support marine resource management and environmental decision-making. She is also actively engaged in teaching quantitative and analytical methods for marine science students.

"What fascinates me about the ocean is its complexity and unpredictability. My work focuses on translating that complexity into meaningful insights that can help protect marine ecosystems and support sustainable coastal management."
