The film highlights the experience of the University of Khorfakkan (UKF) and the Sharjah Marine Science Research Centre, affiliated with the university, the first marine sciences centre on the east coast affiliated with an Emirati university.
The work also addresses the historical relationship that brought together the people of Khorfakkan with the sea, and the transformation from an inherited legacy to a science studied in laboratories.
Supporting studies and research related to biodiversity and marine and coastal ecosystems
The documentary covers the students' and researchers’ time spent inside laboratories and at sea, documenting diving operations, sample collection, field studies, and analysis of marine organisms.
UKF’s partnerships were also covered in the film. The most notable partnership was the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, reflecting the growing position that the university and its research centre have attained within the international scientific cooperation network.
Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority and Executive Producer of the film, said that “Echo of Achievement” continues the Authority’s goal to create documentaries that showcase the cultural and developmental projects in the Emirate of Sharjah. It aims to share this experience with the public in a skilled cinematic style.

The documentary will air on Al Sharqiya channel in two parts. The first will air on August 14, 2026, at 2:15 PM, and the second on August 15, at 2:15 PM. After broadcasting, it will be available on “Maraya” platform.
